Privacy
This page describes the current baseline privacy model for ReSync app and support workflows.
It distinguishes between local app behavior on your Mac and service-side processing needed for licensing/support operations.
Effective date: 2026-02-18
Controller and contact
- Data controller for website support and licensing workflows: ReSync project operator.
- Primary contact: support page and support email channels listed there.
- If legal entity details change (for example company registration), this page will be updated accordingly.
Current status: this is a solo project and not yet operated by a registered company.
Local app behavior
- ReSync does not run in-app tracking or analytics telemetry by default.
- License material required by the app is stored locally via macOS Keychain integration.
- You control local data lifecycle through your own system and backup practices.
What we process
- License and support workflows may process contact details you submit (for example name and email).
- License operations may process technical identifiers needed for activation and validation.
- Support handling may include logs or diagnostics you explicitly share with us.
How data is used
- To process license requests, activation state, and support communication.
- To operate and troubleshoot ReSync services and related tooling.
- To improve reliability and detect abuse in licensing workflows.
Legal bases (GDPR)
- Contract necessity (Art. 6(1)(b)): account, licensing, and support operations you request.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): service security, abuse prevention, and operational reliability.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) where mandatory accounting, tax, or regulatory retention applies.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) only where explicitly requested and revocable.
Retention and sharing
- Data is kept only as long as needed for operational, security, and support purposes.
- We do not sell personal data.
- Data may be processed by infrastructure providers required to run the service.
We aim to keep processing proportional to operational need, fraud prevention, and support quality.
International transfers
Service providers may process data in the EU/EEA and, where applicable, in third countries. When required, transfers rely on safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
- You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and data portability where applicable.
- You can withdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent.
- You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, subject to legal exceptions.
Complaints and authority
If you believe your rights were violated, you can contact us first or file a complaint with your local supervisory authority in the EU/EEA.
Your choices
You can contact us to request correction or removal of data where applicable.
When requesting changes, include enough context so we can locate and process the relevant records safely.
Policy changes
This notice may be updated as services evolve. Material changes are reflected with a new effective date on this page.
